about Orbyss

My name is Taylor Rigsby, and I work under the moniker Orbyss. I’m a Maui-based artist and photographer drawn to depth, stillness, and visual storytelling—especially in places where the world feels untouched.

My creative foundation began with painting and visual art, and that artistic perspective continues to shape everything I make. Over time, photography became a natural extension of that process — a way to translate intuition, composition, and emotion into real-world moments. Underwater is where I feel most at home. Beneath the surface, time slows, distractions fall away, and what remains is movement, light, and presence.

Today, photography is the primary way I work with others. My focus is underwater imagery, portraits, and natural-light sessions that feel immersive, honest, and grounded in their environment. Alongside this, I continue to create original paintings and visual artwork as a parallel practice — exploring form, color, and perception in a more abstract and intuitive way.
